Hi all,
As per requisites that I should apply for an extention within 4-6 weeks of expiry of I-94, I did for my mother whose I-94 is expiring on Jun 11 just.
I have not received receipt from USCIS yet.
Today I was checking dates on process time for I539 (extension) and they are processing applications dated Jan 13, 2007. Which means if I get lucky, my mom's application will not be processed until Nov, Dec this year.
What are my options?
1. Once I get receipt from USCIS that hey have received application and will process it, can my mom continue to stay beyond expiry of I94?
2. Unless she has an approval of extn before Jun11, she should leave the country?
3. Can she just take an international flight let's say to Canada and not get out of airport and then come back taking the immediate next flight back to US?
Pleasee advice.
I really need to extend her visa due to some family issues in US.
