My friend filed for extension for her mom who was visiting on B1/2 visa in late Oct. She e-filed and requested 3 month extension for her mom to spend christmas with her. The original stay was to expire on Nov 25. She got the approval from TSC yesterday till the requested extension date. This was her third visit in 7 years and prev visits were 4 and 6 months respectively. She does not plan to be here any time soon after this. This was not a baby thing, her child is 3 years old.
This is not to encourage anyone filing for extension for no good reason, just for information.
My opinion remains same... sometimes you need to file for extension for reasons beyond your control, This is a privilege meant to be used carefully and not to be abused.
