  • I539. Visitor visa extension

    Hi All

Iam currently applying for the I94 extension for both my parents who are in US.
I have filled the I539 form for them. In that form, is it enough if only the primary applicant sign. Because, it says I need to fill in a supplement form if i have to add the spouse of the primary applicant. And it only asks the passport details of the spouse. And it doens't ask for spouse's signature.
Is that how it is? or am I missing something?

    thanks
    Uma

I think the primary/additional dependent type info is just for purely dependent categories like H1/H4, L1/L2 type extensions being filed.

Each B2 visa holder needs a separate I-539 application to extend status even if they are husband/wife as the visa classification as such does not allow a dependent on such visas.

      Thanks.
But in the instructions, its mentioned that "you may include your spouse as co-applicants in your application for the same extension or change of status".Thats why i thought of using the same application form for both. But i dont know where to get my mother's signature(co-applicant).
Please let me know if anyone did this in the recent past.
      Tks,
      pisa.

I'm not sure about that for B2 visitors like I said. You can wait for responses from others that have done it either successfully or unsuccessfully.
