Visitor Visa extension - urgent need help

Hi

I am very happy to look at this site. Hope to get response for my doubts

My mom's I94 expires by end of Feb 09. She has 10 years multiple entry visa.
She is here since Aug 31 st '08. We are planning to extend her visa for 6more months. Reason for extension is purely tourism.

I have few questions as below :

1 If her extension gets denied , will her multiple entry visa becomes void ?

2. If she has already left before getting the result , would it still void her multiple entry visa in case if we get a denied result later ?

I highly appreciate your help guys.

2. Yes. Anytime after the I-94 expires, she will have a unauthorized stay which will void the visa.

Thanks for your quick response. I have two more questions to clarify

1. If she gets her extension approved , then in that case will she have any difficulty visiting again for the next time may be after 2 or 3 years ?

2. What is the probability that she gets her extension approved for tourism purpose ?

1. No issues.
2. Very slim chances unless you have substantial reason as to why te earlier period was not sufficient to tour the US and produce tickets, detailed itinerary for all the travel plans for the extension periods etc. You are taking a huge risk which will void the visa and also make it tough for future visa approvals for the person.

Visitor Visa Extension

I have exactly the same situation.
My mom's visa epired in Dec 08, but I had filed for an extension in Nov 08.
I had asked for extension until Mar 09 and my mother is still staying with us.
In the meantime I am waiting for the approval letter from USICS.

Also I had talked to many of my friends who had done this before (multiple times for each different visits) and hence things should be fine for people like you and me.

they will be fine, if the extension is approved... otherwise your mom's visa is void.

Doubt : I94 expiry date to leave US or to reach India

Hi ,

My Mom's I94 expires on Feb 28 th. she leaves from US on Feb 27 th ( 12 noon ) and by the time she reach India it will be Mar 1 st around 2 am.

My Question is

1. Does she have to leave US on or before Feb 28 th or she has to reach India before Feb 28 th.

She has to LEAVE the US BEFORE Feb 28 by 11:59:59 PM.
