Visitor visa extension apply date

Hi,
I have a question regarding a suitable time to apply for the visitor visa extension. Though in the website it is mentioned not before 45 days, what would be the ideal time to apply. People say that these days decisions come quickly and should be applied late like 2, 3 weeks before I-94 expiry. those friends who have applied foe extension recently or who are going to in forthcoming days, any answers??

Question to Immihelp

Regarding the visitor visa extension, I saw your response in case of extension denial. I had heard that if the extension is denied then we will have to leave the country immediately and there would be no grace period.
Little confused about that grace period thing? If extension is denied then 30 days period then one wouldn't have to be worried about being out of status incase of denial.
