  • visit visa extension

My mom is right now here with me she was issued a 3months visa in Dec 03 came here in January 04, got 6months at port of entry. Now we are planning to apply for extension but am confused because a couple of our friends said the next she applies for visit visa after going back there are chances of her application being rejected reason being that she over stayed the first time around that she was given visa to come here. please help don't know what to do and time to apply for extension is running out.

What your friends are telling is true, and it can happen, but it is not true that it definitely happens to everyone.

    It is your decision.

      Thanks

Thanks for the reply. My question remains that though she is staying back legally would it be considered over staying?

        Re: Thanks

Even though she would be staying legally, they could create problem.

Remember, they are giving you tourist visa. What is real tourist going to for 1 year in any country?

I like to know whether you applied for extension for your mom and it got approved. Please help me out as soon as possible.

              Proper justification

If you have a valid reason for the extention, like health (not suitable to travel),..etc, then I don't think requesting an extention is a problem.
Next time when applying for a visa, if the question is asked about the reason for an extention (I am 99.99% positive they don't ask) then your mother should be able to answer convincingly. So apply for the extention. Good luck.
