Visa renewal - Parents lost Extension approval (I797) - Options?

Dear all:

My parents, in their last visit (2015/16) got extended and stayed for additional 3 months. Extension was approved by USCIS. When they went to apply for Visa renewal few days ago, they have been asked to submit extension of stay approval document. I-797 document has been lost and what I could retrieve was USCIS email acceptance (with receipt #) and online USCIS Approval status.

Please advise if anyone had been in this situation and how did you address it for Visa renewal. Appreciate your response.

Try to reach USCIS & see if they can give you a copy of that 797.

Hi Sriram,

My mother also is in the same situation. We lost her approved B2 visa extension that happened in 2010 and just have the receipt number. Please let me know if you were able to find a solution .
