I-130 or visa extension

my mom is currently in the US, her I-94 will expire on July 26, 2010. I just got my citizenship, so instead of filing a visa extension I was thinking of filing I-130. Is that possible? thanks

Do that only if she is really planning to stay in the U.S. for most of the time.

hi, thanks for your reply. Can she stay in the US while the I-130 is in process? Her I-94 will expire on July 26,2010. What else should I need to do, so she can stay in the US when her I-94 expires.thanks again.

She can stay if her I-485 is pending. And you can file her I-130 and I-485 together.
