Visitor Visa Renewal DS 160 - B2 vs. B1/B2

Hey folks, I am applying for a renewal of my visitor visa (I don’t plan to do business). would really appreciate some help here with answering the “Purpose of trip to the US” question on the DS 160 form. How should we go about this?




1. When we first filed for US Visa 10 years ago, we selected the "TOURISM/MEDICAL TREATMENT (B2)" option on the DS 160 form (screenshot above)

2. But the visa we received has "Visa Type/Class" mentioned as "B1/B2"

3. Now, when we are filing the DS 160 for visa renewal this time, what should we answer with?
- "TOURISM/MEDICAL TREATMENT (B2)" (to match last time's DS 160 form & because we are traveling only for tourism and not business)
OR
- "BUSINESS & TOURISM (TEMPORARY) VISITOR (B1/B2)" (to match our current visa)

If you are "renewing" you need to apply for the same visa you have. If it's B1/B2, that's what you have to put.
