  • Visitor visa extension fee clarification for two applicants in same application

I applied visitors visa extension for my parents for another 3 months.I did e file the I-539 form.
In the form there is option to add all family members, so primary is my father and then included my mother
    in same application

The fee requested by system and I paid at final step in e filing is $290

    My question is,
    1) Is $290 the fees for both applicants (as they are in same application)?
    2) Dont we need to pay for both?

Any one went thru applying extension both parents (or in laws) and paid only $290?

    Please clarify.

    Sincerely

The system will generate the correct fees. Don't worry.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      Thank you for your response.
I got receipt notices, there mentioned both applicant names.

I applied extension to my parents 40 days back and still no updates.
Their return date is on 5 th September (i-94 expring on Sep 7).
      My questions are

      1) Can they stay beyond Sep 7, if they dont get decision by that time?
      2) If yes, any one had similar experience?
      3) If the extension got denied and if they leave country upon denail, will there be any issues when they come back in future? Any one has similar experience? Please share

      Please advise.
Your suggestions and experience is highly appreciated.
      Thank you in advance.
      Regards

I just see your question on this thread.
Actually my parents extension request got approved after 3 months (e filed on 7/11 and approved on 10/9).We requested for 3.5 months till 12/31, they approved till then.

Their initial I-94 got expired on September 6,2012.I was also in same situation and contacted one of the immigration attorneys regarding whether they can stay beyond I-94 expiry date or not when application is pending. The attorney mentioned that since we initially requested extension till 12/31, they can stay until this date if petition is pending. If decision not received before that date, they have to leave the country even if petition pending.

          Hope this helps.

Visitor visa extension - two aplicants

            Hi,

I had applied for my parents' visa (B2) extension in October and it was rejected stating the payment information was incorrect. I had included a payment of $580 ($290x2) as the application was for my Father and Mother. Then I called the USCIS customer center and they clarified that though both the applicant's information is provided in the same application, it will be only $290 as it is a single application and Biometrics not applicable.

I submitted the application again with the correct payment information ($290) and other documents. But it was again sent back stating it is rejected as the payment information is not correct. But the payment amount has been deducted from my account and USCIS has not enclosed the check along with the documents.

My parents' visa has already expired and this time I'm not sure as to how to proceed as I had submitted all the documents with the correct payment information. Can anyone please help by providing some insight? Should I file as two separate applications? Thanks in advance.

            Thanks
            Vivek

              Vivek,

Have you got any updates from USCIS?. I am on the same boat, as you were in. I have sent $580 for my parents and they rejected the application and returned the check back. Now, I will have to send the check back, But I am not sure if it is for 290 or 580. What was happened in your situation?., Did your parents application got processed?.

              Thanks for your response.
