  • Insurance for my mother - 68 years

    Hi,

I wanted to confirm best suited insurance for my mom -68 years who would be visiting us for few months. 5 years back she had heart attack and also currently she is undergoing medication for kidney related problem.
From your earlier blogs, I see you recommended comprehensive coverage plans that would cover acute onset of pre-existing conditions for people below the age of 70 years.
    Atlas America Insurance https://www.insubuy.com/atlasamerica-insurance/
    Liaison Continent Insurance https://www.insubuy.com/safe-travels...ive-insurance/

Will any of these insurance hold good in Wisconsin?
Will there be guidance / online information which doctor / hospital to visit in-case of emergency?
Will there be any wait period for the insurance to come into effect?
Also, how will insurance company decide which one is pre-existing condition and which is not? As a customer do we need to declare while taking insurance ? (because in one the blog post in this site it was mentioned - even though it was not a preexisting condition, insurance company did not pay with excuse of preexisting condition. )

    Regards,
    Sri

Visitor to USA is free to roam around anywhere in the U.S. She need not be restricted to one place.

In both the plans you mentioned, there are a good number of providers in most parts of the U.S.

You can search for the PPO networks in each of those plans at

    Atlas America

    Liaison Continent

Insurance can start as early as the next day or any future date you specify.

I hope this answers all of your questions.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.
    Thanks & Regards

I was also wanted to your reply about the last question I asked..

--- how will insurance company decide which one is pre-existing condition and which is not? As a customer do we need to declare while taking insurance ? (because in one the blog post in this site it was mentioned - even though it was not a preexisting condition, insurance company did not pay with excuse of preexisting condition. )

        1. Please read https://www.insubuy.com/visitor-medi...ng-conditions/

As visitors insurance plans are not medically underwritten plans, there is no medical information to be provided.

        2. That is absolutely not true. Insurance companies don't use excuses like that but the customer often misunderstand. They think that if they didn't know about the condition, it can't be pre-existing. Please note that the exclusion is for pre-existing condition and not just for pre-known condition nor for pre-diagnosed condition nor for pre-treated condition. It is for pre-existing condition. Therefore, some of the dissatisfaction occurs from misunderstanding this matter and having unrealistic expectations.
        Thanks & Regards
