  • Visitor Medical Insurance Coverage

    Hi guys,

My parents will be visiting me in the US. I want to have a Medical Insurance policy for them. Both of them are in their 50s.

Could anyone of you please explain me which all things are covered under a visitor medical insurance? Now, my parents have diabetes and BP, so are the things like physician visit, general drugs, laboratrory tests etc. covered under it? Will we have to share the 'copay' amount in each of these? How soon can I get the pocily for them? Do they (parents) need to have SSN for that?

If somebody has a policy document of any Insurance company from which they are availaing the benefits, could you please send it to me on [email protected]?

    Rgds - Sachin

    1. Insurance company will pay for any new medical conditions, sicknesses, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. Please read individual product brochure and policy for more details. All the documents are available at https://www.insubuy.com

    2. It will not cover any pre-existing conditions. That means, anything related to diabetes or BP will NOT be covered.

    3. There is no concept of copay in short term insurance plans.
There are 2 types of visitors insurance plans.

    Fixed: Cheaper, limited. Read https://www.insubuy.com/guide/terms.jsp?section=fixed

Comprehensive: More expensive, better coverage. Read

    4. No, you don't have to have SSN to buy it. No visitors will have SSN in US.

    5. You can look at all the details of different insurance plans at https://www.insubuy.com

I hope this answers all your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Unfortunately, there is no plan from any company any where that would cover pre-existing conditions for visitors to United States.

And diabetes & BP are considered pre-existing conditions as they are chronic problems and do not occur overnight.
        Thanks & Regards
