Hello,
As these are short term plans there is not a concept of and out of pocket maximum, that is a concept use within domestic insurance plans.
With a short term plan it will cover up to your chosen policy maximum and anything beyond your policy maximum you are responsible for out of pocket whatever that amount would be.
The plans will never pay beyond the listed amount of coverage you have purchased after your deductible and coinsurance.Thanks & Regards

Hello,
Using the Atlas America plan as a reference you will meet your deductible first. Your deductible on the plan will be annual. So you will pay it once during the lifetime of the policy.
After your deductible has been met your coinsurance will begin. If you have a 80/20 coinsurance your will be responsible for 20% additional of the medical bill so that would be an additional $1,000. So in a worst case scenario if anything were to happen you would pay a total of $1,250.00 (provide your deductible is $250) keeping in mind anything above the policy maximum would be your responsibility.
If you need any further clarification please do not hesitate to contact our office.Thanks & Regards

I am still trying to understand coinsurance component. For example if I take $50k plan with 80/20 coinsurance and $500 deductible. If first time my claim is $10,500, I am responsible for
Deductible = $500
20% of $5k = $1000
and insurance pay $9k . Right
If I have second claim for $10k, I am responsible for
20% of $5k = $1000 and Insurance pay $9K. Right?

Hello,
Everything in your example is correct except for the second visit. Please see the correction to the example listed below.
$10,500, I am responsible for
Deductible = $500
20% of $5k = $1000
and insurance pay $9k . Right
If I have second claim for $10k *On a second claim you have
met your deductible and your coinsurance so you will pay
nothing on your second claim * so the Insurance pays $10K.
I hope this helps please let me know if you need any further assistance.Thanks & Regards
