  • Pl. advice

    Hi,

I have gone thru many of the readings (links provided in this forum) and got confused. My in laws are coming here for 4 months and both of them are 55 years old.

We have two options: ICICI Lombard or any good insurance from USA? Can somebody give me pros & cons. for this two? (briefly)
Most of them says 'pre existing' conditions are not covered? how do we ensure this? Do they need to go any medical check up before taking insurance? if yes do they need to get it done here or in india? (i would like their insurance to be effective from the minute they land into USA)

    Thanks for looking.

Before buying ICICI Lombard, read my experience at http://www.immihelp.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16830

I strong reccommend to buy from USA based company. You should read http://www.immihelp.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8268

I went thru your post. I am really sorry about what you are suffering!.

can anyone else pl. let me know whether they need to go thru any medical test before taking insurance? How do we ensure about any pre existing condition? what if i want their insurance be applicable from the moment they land here?

      Thanks for your advice.

No, they did not have to go through any medical test before buying the insurance. After the claim is submitted, they will determine whether something is pre-existing condition or not.

I assume that after reading my post, you would want to buy from US based company. You should contact InsuBuy.com folks at 1-866-INSU-BUY for all those questions as I am not too sure.

          Thanks Krishnan.

I am going thru all details and getting more and more confused. I had a talk with somebody and got opinion if parents have some pre existing conditions and they are on medications its better to take insurance from India as USA insurance will not be of any help in that case! is it true? I know that USA insurance can help me in the conditions like accidents and unexpected situation. But major risk is of already existing conditions.

My in laws are healthy but they have high BP and they take medicine to keep the BP normal. It doesn't mean that if they miss their tablet for day or two their BP goes up. but that is a precaution they are taking. Now my concern is it is very easy to corelate any health issue with BP. and i m aftraid that insurance co. will escape from its responsibility simply showing BP as a cause for any illness.

i am still doing research for good insurance. any good suggestion / advice / exp. share will be appreciated.

No insurance company can afford to cover pre-existing conditions for visitors to USA. You are paying a small premium and if every one claims lot of money, where will the insurance company get the money to all the claims?

            I suggest you read https://www.insubuy.com/visitor-medi...ng-conditions/

That article gives detailed explanation of pre-existing conditions situation fo r visitor insurance.

It is definitely better to buy from US based company. It has many advantages. Please read https://www.insubuy.com/guide/
