  • Several questions about comprehensive coverage

I am looking to buy Visitor Insurance for US visit and am looking to buy Comprehensive plan.

I have following questions and will appreciate a prompt reply.

    1) When one renews a renewable policy and if there is a claim before does that become a pre exisiting condition? Can insurance company refuse for extension in case there is any claim before?

    2) Is Patriot America IMG policy a renewable policy?

    3) Does Patriot America IMG has a PPO network? If yes which PPO network?
If it has no PPO network does it mean that they will not have any negotiated rates with hospitals.

    4) It appears Liason International SRI has a Hygeia PPO network. Does this mean that they have negotiated better rates with hospitals?

    5) How big is the Hygeia PPO? How can one find which doctors/hospitals participate in this network?

    6) I noticed all the companies listed on your web site do not cover pre existing condion but at the same time do not need any medical before they issue a policy.
What if there is a claim and what criteria does insurance company take while clearing the claim?
I was reading experiences online and couple of posts had mentioned that SRI refused claims on the basis of pre exisitng condition when there was none. They are charging such a high premium and what guarnatee does a policy holder has that their claim will be honored in case there is one?
What recourse does policy holder has in case insurance company refuses a claim?

    7) Can one cancel a policy and get a refund for the unused period?

    8) What benefit do I get if I decide to buy from your web site?

    9) How soon one get the card once they buy the insurance online?

    10) Can we buy from your web site even if a person is not in US?

    11) Can we buy an insurance if a person is already in US?

No, it does not become pre-existing condition.
No, they can not refuse to renew.

    2.
    No.
However, ExPatriot Plus is renewable. Look at

    https://www.insubuy.com/img/patriot/...s/brochure.jsp

Protection America is an enhanced version of Patriot America and it is renewable as well. Read https://www.insubuy.com/patriot-amer...e/enhanced.jsp

Patriot America IMG has no PPO network. That means, they do not have negotiated rates with hospitals.

Howerver, Protection America has hugh PPO network called First Health PPO Network. Read https://www.insubuy.com/patriot-amer...e/enhanced.jsp
    4.
    Yes.

    5.
Hygeia PPO has provider network all across US. You can look at providers directory at https://www.insubuy.com/companies/ppo-network/

When the person gets sick and gets treatment, depending upon the examination done by doctor, tests performed, and treatment given, doctor prepares attending physician report and sends it to the insurance company. Insurance company's claim department looks at it, looks at unique circumstances of patient and treatment, and determines whether something is pre-existing condition or not.
It is NOT true that SRI refused claims on the basis of pre-existing condition when there was none. That is what the customer feels. Please note that it is not only necessary that the disease was just diagnosed after the
effective date of policy, it must not have manifested before the effective date. And in couple of instances, where people posted claims experience with SRI, we have asked them to contact us, they sent us all the paperwork,
and it was clearly shown in medical records by US doctor that the personwas having problems for long time but he ignored earlier. Usually, whenever anyone gets sick, they always have feeling that nothing was pre-existing, but insurance companies also have medical doctors on staff in claims department to determine. And they do pretty good job.

The refund policy is as follows:
IMG Protection America: If there is no claim, insurance company would refund FULLY unused number of minus $25 cancellation fee.
SRI Liaison: If there is no claim, insurance company would refund unused number of days minus $50 cancellation fee.
This is done routinely by us on daily basis.

    Read first question in https://www.insubuy.com/guide/
Morever, as we work as a broker, we give neutral adivce, help you choose the best plan, and we are virtually open all the time. If you contact the company itself, they will obviously speak only good things about them. And in case there is claim, you have no one on your side if you bought direct.
Also, you get more support, such as answers to all these questions in
long email, even on Saturday night.
There is no difference in price no matter where you buy from. Prices are regulated.
As we work on commission and survive solely based on our sales, and we are helping you, we request you to buy from us.

    9.
Cards are mailed next business day by regular US postal service.
You can also request to be mailed to you by courier.

    11.
    Yes
However, if the person is above 65 years of age, IMG plans need to be purchased maximum within 30 days of arrival or present proof of prior insurance.
