My father is 72 years old. He is diabetic and handicapped (lost one leg). My mother is 63 years old. She has diabetes, thyroid problems, asthma. I see that none of the insurances on your website cover pre-existing conditions.
I have talked to my local doctor who has promised to take care of minor ailments within her specialization if need be. So, I have taken care of regular check-ups, getting prescriptions and other minor problems. Now, I am only worried about major problems such as hospitalization, evacuation to home country etc. I am not sure if any of the insurance companies pay for acute or life threatening situations.
I am also considering ICICI Lombard travel insurance. I understand that they don't have any negotiated fees with the hospitals or doctors. But, they claim to pay for acute or life threatening situations and evacuation to home country even for pre-existing conditions. Though they might not cover much, but they cover at least something.
Do you have any insurance coverage for such emergency life threatening conditions? If so, what insurance would you suggest. My parents are planning to come to USA New York area next month and stay for 6 months.
