I assumed this would a routine, H1B change of status, interview. After standard questions about my place of employment, salary.
VO - Did you drop out or miss semesters at your university?
ME - Nope! Would you like to look at my transcript or diploma.
VO - Sure
*hands over sealed transcript which the VO looks at and returns*
ME - Do you want to look at my Diploma?
VO - No thank you. So you finished your masters in 1 year?
ME - Yes.
*fills in the blue 221g for me and a pink slip for himself*
VO - The regular process takes about one week, I anticipate your case to take 1 week of administrative processing to arrive at a decision plus 1 week for the visa to be issued.
ME - So will you be holding on to my passport?
VO - Yes. *attaches pink slip to the passport and keeps it*
