Notes:
I had applied for an F1 visa to do a PhD in physics and this is the first time I'm appearing for an interview. I think the visa officer didn't understand my research area well (or he decided that it came under the Technology Alert List), and he asked me to submit my resume on the day of the interview. I gave him my resume and copies of my research publications, after which he gave me a blue slip and collected my passport. On 30th May, exactly 21 days after the interview, I received an email asking me to submit my advisor's resume and my research plan. Since I am a new student, I don't have an advisor, so I just submitted my research plan. Don't know how long it'll take now.
