Recently we attend Interview for H1B/H4 Visa with Chennai US Consulate on 17/July/2017. After the Interview Visa Officer gave us 221g with status marked as “"Your application requires additional administrative processing before a final decision can be made".
Bit worried about the delay as my Son High school starts later this month. I did informed my employer and Immigration team regarding this. There was no update for 2 weeks. Sent an email and phone to US Immigration Hyderabad number. Visa Helpdesk asked to wait for update, as this may take few weeks to complete.
On 4th August our Visa was approved. I feel 221g is additional check and nothing to worry, if we have provided correct information. Hope this helps for people waiting for update from Consulate and good luck.
