I have a PhD and work for a software company. F1 OPT to H1B, first time H1B stamping.
OFC on Dec 3.
Interview on Dec 4 - Questions about job duties, education background, start of OPT, job, and H1B status. Was told that additional processing is needed and sent to another window where a white form was given. It asked for resume, education and research background, present and past job duties, travel dates, purpose of visit. I submitted everything next day by email. They kept my passport.
First status date: Dec 5 - AP
Second status date: Jan 11 - AP
Third update: Jan 12 - Issued
Jan 12 received email to collect passport.
