Past history: In the US since 2005. Since then, I have had three F1 renewals and one O1 renewal. This is is second renewal of my O1. I have only encountered difficulty during the first renewal of my F1 during my PhD and was placed under the 221(G) processing. That was in 2011 and took exactly 30 days to resolve.
Current History:
Qualified for drop-box and submitted documents on Nov. 28th, 2017.
Received request to pick up passport on Dec 3rd, 2017. A letter to appear for an interview was attached.
Visited the US Embassy in New Delhi for the interview on Dec. 5th and was requested to submit additional documents for 221(G). The consular services asked to keep my passport but I requested to keep the passport with me in case I travel for personal reasons.
Case Created: Nov 28, 2017
Case Status Update: Administrative Processing on Dec 5, 2017.
Since then the date for the case has been updated twice with the latest update on Feb 7, 2018, but still in Administrative Processing.
