This experience was hell for me and the reports on this website helped me a lot. Adding this here so that it gives someone else hope .
I have top education, MS from top univ in USA and have been working in USA for last 10-11 years in fortune 500 companies, had multiple H1B extensions and never had any issue till now.
This time, I had my interview on 21st Jun 2018 and V.O told me that my visa is approved and I can pick it up in couple of days. later in the evening got an email requesting DS5535 information. Sent it out on 24th June 18 and then no update until yesterday when it changed from Pending to Issued.
Few points, I had originally submitted the documents by email and sent the same few times thinking may be email got lost. I then submitted the docs in person on 17th Jan 19. I also had my congressman submit a request on my behalf last month. Finally got the visa issued on 7th Feb, after waiting for 7 month.
