My first interview date was in July 2018. Unfortunately I has to miss it due to pre-arranged travel. I called USCIS call center and they assured me it could be rescheduled. Bad mistake. Phone calls mean nothing, if you don’t write in, then the USCIS has no record of it. I was misled. Without going into too many details, they said I was a “no show” at the interview date and they were closing my N-400 file. I wrote in September 2018 explaining the circumstances with all supporting documents. Heard nothing back. Wrote again in January 2019 and in March 2019 my status online was updated with a message indicating my request for rescheduling the interview was completed. I wrote again in June 2019 with requesting a written update of when my Interview Date would be rescheduled. I finally got notice on August 10 for a Interview Date of September 23, at the Interview the IO Naturalized me and said I could take my Oath in a few hours, and next day I got my passport in 3 hours due to travel.
