Notes:
I am a FTE software engineer working in the avionics industry. I had a regular interview and the VO asked me the usual questions. After asking me for my job description the interview slowed down. The VO was looking into her computer for 3-5 mins and then handed me the 221g blue slip with request to email additional documents. (resume, travel history, publications, job descriptions, invitation letter etc) The invitation letter part was confusing since I am a FTE. I believe "avionics" is on the list of TAL(technology alert list), which might have triggered a case for 221g, but this is just a guess. As of 03/17 I haven't heard back from them yet.
