I had applied for H1 ext in Oct'2019 along with my spouse' H4. Meanwhile my spouse got H1, so we requested USCIS to withdraw H4 (specifically I539) application. I got my H1 approval, the next day USCIS withdrew my application (in error) along with spouse H4. As H1 cannot be withdrawn by USCIS without employer requesting for same my employer reached out to USCIS and USCIS re-opened my case and sent another H1 physical copy as approved (online status not updated).
In Jan I came to India, I was eligible for drop-box, but got 221g slip to attend interview. On Feb 10th I attended visa interview and I was given 221g again, no documents asked.The consular informed that my visa in their system shows revoked :( (their systems are not in sync)
We reached out to USCIS and USCIS again confirmed that my case is approved. Got new document from USCIS and submitted to consulate. No acknowledgment received.I reached out to consulate numerous times to no avail, plus consulate has been closed since March
