14th September 2021: interview date
I was asked three questions: why this university? Who will be sponsoring your studies? How long has your family been living in Kuwait? [question was asked because I am a third country national]. VO took a look at my I-20 and said “you have time, we need more information from you” and handed my passport back to me. My classes are to begin on the 10th of Jan 2022 btw. Then he handed me a 221g white slip which stated my case was pending further administrative processing and I would need to submit the ds 5535 and it would take 3-4 weeks to complete the process.
14th September 2021: submitted the ds 5535 immediately after I got home.
3rd October 2021: emailed the consulate asking for an update, received an email that it was still under processing and I will have to wait.
Checked the embassy website where it mentions “processing takes 1-6 weeks on average”
26th October 2021(on exactly 6 weeks): received a call and email to submit my passport.
