3-8-22: L1A interview (third renewal). Email from consulate requesting DS-5535 sent hours after interview. Passports for myself and my two L2 dependents were collected and I-129S was returned with approval signature/stamp.
3-10-22: DS-5535 was filled out and sent to the consulate. DS-160 status shows refused
8-02-22: Still refused, no update, generic answers from consulate
After 4 months undergoing administrative processing waiting for my visa and my family's, I became a permanent resident, which in itself would be great news, but it left my family stranded since they can no longer have L2s on an L1 that doesn't exist. we're trying everything to get them back home and not have to separate the family, but it's not looking good. My wife already lost her job since she won't have an L2 to come back with
221g and DS-5535 are not a death sentence to your visa process, but it breaks lives, families. I sincerely wish the rest for the rest of you who're waiting, may your wait be done soon
