Profile: First time H1B stamping. F1 OPT, cap gap, H1 all working in the US at an aerospace company
5/31 - Interview at Delhi consulate. VO asked basic questions about my role, practical applications, highest degree and pay. Then handed me a yellow slip and asked to go to another counter. There I was asked to email my resume, work experience, research, travel itinerary and purpose to [email protected].
Emailed all the documents the same day
The CEAC website showed refused
6/23 - Got an email to submit my passport to the nearest drop off. CEAC still showed refused
6/24 - Dropped off in Mumbai
6/28 - Status changed to Administrative Processing
6/29 - Changed to Issued
While waiting I had sent emails to [email protected], received a generic response, and [email protected] - received an auto response.
There sadly is nothing to do but wait, and hopefully this case gives you somewhat of an estimate for how long!
Still not sure why I received a 221g but I'd guess TAL
