Notes:
Fiance is from Ecuador and we filed for i129f in May of 2021. Interview in Bogota (have been living in Colombia) embassy on Nov 1st. A verbal approval was given by the officer during the interview but he said "you may hear from me in the coming days about the format of your birth certificate". No slip was given. About 10 days later we received an email to provide physical and scanned copies of a different format of birth certificate from Ecuador. They kept her passport so she had to have a family member obtain the new BC in Ecuador. We scanned and sent the new BC on Nov 14th and DHL'd the physical copy on Nov 15th. On Nov 28th the embassy confirmed they received the documents. Still haven't heard anything as of Dec 14th. We have a 9 month old baby together (baby has US passport due to us filing a consular report of birth abroad) and feel the whole situation is ridiculous. Update: ceac website started showing "approved" on 12-30-22. Update: ceac website started showing "issued" 1-3-23
