I gave F1 renewal interview on Nov 25 2014. I am a fifth year PhD student and came India to renew my visa after my 4 year visa expired (which was issued to me after 221(g) processing in 2010). After a minute of interview, the officer is said everything is fine but I need to answer few more questions and directed me to another window. There I was given a white slip requesting documents like resume, research summary etc. I submitted documents next day and waiting since then. I work in data science and machine learning related fields and have an excellent research and academic record.
She asked me about my research field which is Machine Learning and then verified if I work on Robots. I said no and then she typed something on computer. I think its a TAL check.
