I appeared at the Mumbai consulate on 12th March 2015 for my B2 Visa along with my wife, who also applied for her B 2 visa. The interview lasted for just about a minute and the visa officer said that both our visas are approved..However, I was surprised to see that the visa was issued only to my wife and in my case the passport was returned along with a white slip issued under section 221(g) mentioning “This office will contact you via e-mail”. I then checked the visa status on the website and it shows that my visa case is under administrative processing There is no change in status since 12 March 2015
Received mail on 20th April 2015 asking me tosubmit my passport and pending letter to the Consulate General, Mumbai. I submitted the passport and 221 (g) letter on the same date.
The status was changed on 22nd April to issued and I got my passport duly stamped on 23rd April 2015.
