My background: Ph.D in Biology - working as a postdoc (TAL)
Employer: A reputed university
(I was on J1 for 5 years - sponsored by the same university)
Time line:
Interview on 3rd Feb 2015. VO told me immediately that my visa is approved and passport would be ready for pick in 2/3 days. But next day I received an email to submit additional documents such as invitation letter from the sponsor, cv, project details and previous travel details in the past 10 years.
Submitted requested documents on: 4th Feb 2015. Immediately received the confirmation.
Status on 5th Feb 2015 - Administrative processing
Status update on 30th Mar 2015 - Administrative processing
Status update on 31st Mar 2015 - Issued
Received email on 2nd April 2015 - Passport ready for pick up.
Collected passport on 3rd April 2015 from a Blue dart collection center.
