Attended Visa Interview for F1 visa (Phd in Chemical Engineering @ North Carolina) on 4th May-2015 and received 221 G white slip. VO did not take any of my documents i.e. passport, I-20 etc., and informed they have to do background verification. My two other friends who attended VISA interview at Calcutta, India (one is Phd in Chemistry and another one is Phd in Chemical Engineering) also got same white slip. Anybody can help me how to know the present status of my VISA.
Just now saw status date updated from 4th May to 3rd June. Some progress is going on.
At last on 8th June my Visa was issued for 4 years. Exact 4 weeks time they took. Every genuine case they will approve, have patience and good luck.
