Re: EAD Case Status
Hey guys, its me again Victoria. So I just wanted to update you on my EAD. On May 15, my status was 'My Card Is Being Produced' and I just checked right now (May 17, 2017) and my status changed to 'My Card Was Mailed to Me. I'm beyond ecstatic. (Field Office: Newark, NJ). I wish everyone good luck and to have patience because God's time is the right time. ;)

Interview experience - Philadelphia
Please see my profile for timeline.

Status: F1 overstay by 14 yrs and worked without EAD for 12. (Listed my five year work history on I-485).

AOS: Marriage USC

Nationality: Kenyan

We arrived at 10:30 for 11:35 interview. The IO was a black lady in her mid fifties early sixties so my inner dialogue is like "cool, I got a soul sister, can't resist her, this will be a breeze!" Wrong! This lady was impervious to charm, I tried to make small talk but she just gave me a look that said "child please!" So I shut my mouth and let her do her thing.

She swore us in and immediately started to sift through our file without saying a word or even looking up. I had my lawyer with me (I work in risk management so he was my very expensive insurance policy). Anyway my lawyer didn't pick up on the cue that the IO wanted to look through her file and go through her routine so he kept asking her if she needed more documents but she shut him down quick!

The documents I submitted with my initial application are:

Home insurance policy 2008 - 2016
Vehicle title in both our names purchased in 2005
Vehicle registration of above
Life insurance policy beneficiaries
My 401 k beneficiary listing my wife
Title deed to house with both our names
Prenuptial agreement
Copy of pictures of wife and I (Side note: I've made some very questionable fashion choices over the years lol!!)
W2 (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016)

After 15 minutes she went through yes or no questions and then flatly said "congratulations I will approve your case, expect your green card in 30 to 90 days."

That's it! Not a single question to my wife or to me about my marriage. Not one question about my working without EAD!

On my way out I popped my head into the IO supervisor office and inquired about getting a passport stamp and he said it's only for emergency use and that I would have to prove my emergency.

Advice: save some scratch and do it on your own, you really do not need a lawyer. This forum is an amazing resource.

Fellows, wear a nice fitted suit (tie optional) you will project a look of credibility.

 Fire away!

RFE requested for document already submitted at the Interview
I submitted original I-693(with doctor's seal) to the IO during our interview . Now after 12 days of interview they send me a letter of RFE for my updated I-693 saying it has been expired as of 01/27/2017 .

To avoid the RFE , I submitted the updated I-693(completed on 04/11/2017) at the time of interview . But now they have send it anyways .

Any suggestions what should I do ?

Should i just do another medical examination and send them the new report?

Any similar experiences you guys have . Please do share!!!

CONCURRENT FILING - PARENT OF US CITIZEN
I received the I-797 Approval of the I-130 petition and filed concurrent for my mother.
Do I need to send the approval notice to Lee's Summit, Mo since we filed the I-485 already?.
Besides, we did not file the I-765, and the PD start on 12/05/2016, should I sent it now?
I really appreciate some guidance.

Background check
I am from middle east and applied for i 485 based on marriage.
After 6.5 months of waiting, I went to info pass today and realized that I am still in background check process as it is still pending after 6.5 month. Do you know what is typical time frame for background check? should I be worried about it as it is taking long time?

Denver Interview Appointment Notice
Hello all Denver filers,

I received an interview appointment by letter today.
My PD is November 1, 2016, and my case is AOS based on marriage to US citizen.
I received my EAD card on February 3, 2017 (in hand).
I just want to share the news with you all, especially to those whose online case status is not regularly updated.
My online case status was never updated, not even once after the cases were received.
They still say "Fingerprint Fee Was Received" and "Case Was Received," for both forms I-485 and I-130.
I hope that this information helps. The Denver office is already scheduling interviews for November 2016 cases.

Interview
NYC folks! Had an interview today (5/17/17), and seemed to go well, but no on the spot decision. Anyone experience the same and have a timeline? Also in case people are wondering, PD was early July of 2016. (And if anyone has questions about what they asked - it was very simple!)

Confusing and frustrating experience.
Hello everyone, I am in a very desperate situation and need help clearing things up.

I have an approved I-130 since the year 2008 (my father is a USC). In the waiting time for my priority date to arrive I got married (in 2011) and now have a daughter (born in 2013).

We (the 3 of us) came to the US in December 2016 with a tourist visa. We applied for adjustment of status because my priority date came up in the visa bulletin but my spouse and daughter are not listed in my I-130. I have people from a filing center with decades of experience telling me that everything is good with our forms and that this is the way to do this. My I-485 is in process since 03/08/2017 and I had my Biometrics taken in 03/30/2017, but my wife's and daughter's I-485 has been returned today for the 4th time stating that:

"it is being returned for the following reasons: 'Based on the information you provided, your priority date could not be established. Please resubmit your application with the proper documentation to the address listed on the bottom of this notice.
The following documents may be provided:
Your original Form I-130 if you are filling concurrently; or
A copy of your Form I-797 if the I-130 petition has already been filed/approved; or
other evidence that an immigration visa petition has been filed/approved on your behalf' "

I need to know if we should be filling in a different way than what is suggested by the filling center we paid.
Do I need to update my own I-130 so that they are listed there?
My I-485 is in process, can I wait for my interview and add them there?
Should I wait until my GC is approved to file for them?
Any other advice would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Guy,

I am in the middle of this journey.

2/15 filed I-129

3/17 my fiancé came to usa, we married within the 90 days
5/3/17 sent I-485.I-765,I-131 express mail

So far, the check has not been cashed, and we have not received any update...
