Few months ago I went for visa renewal to Chennai consulate.During that time I notice that VO approved visa very quickly for some people and they did issue 221g for some others.One of the reason was the size of prospective company and the person's current experiance played big role for their decision. If the US company is small in size then VO would ask all sort of documents. It is their job to ensure that the company hired you that would capable of provide the min salary $60k per annum that is mandatory for H1B candidates. So go with full information about your prospective employer and that would help lot. Some people said, Mumbai consulate was lenient but I don't think so.Unlike Chennai, for Mumbai, you have to send the documents 5 days before and they reviewed all details well in advance.
