Hey guys, so to anyone interested, and to those of you who are nervous for your interview in Holtsville, my interview went great. I've come to a conclusion that dealing with older people in immigration is much easier than with younger people, they just don't ask too many question, and the Holtsville location has mostly older people. I had my interview at 9.15 on the 10th. 3 days before the interview I came back from Poland after leaving on an emergency travel pass (no trouble getting back in at JFK and no questions at the airport asked). My husband and I waited for 2 hours before finally being called in. The lady was very nice, made small talk on the way to her office. She swore us in, first thing she asked is if we have any pictures with us. So we gave her our 2 albums and she asked "So tell me your story, how did you meet?" After that she asked how did I enter the country originally, why have I overstayed my visa, when did my parents leave back to Poland and how did I support myself after they have left, and which school did I finish. She then told us to pick one casual photo and one wedding photo for the file. She then wanted a bank statement and everything that had both our names on it and our address, she said we could give anything from a driver's license with same address, health insurance cards, tickets, receipts, etc. She made copies of the IDs, went through all yes/no questions on the back of application. Then she said she's not giving us a decision because as we can see she puts all Adjustment of Status folders on the side so that she can do security checks on them after she's done interviewing. She then went through the process of filing the Removal of Conditions and Citizenship for me in 3 years and that I should receive my green card in 2-4 weeks. She thanked us, walked us out still making small talk on the way out. She didn't ask about jobs, she didn't ask about my emergency travel even though we gave her the plane tickets, didn't ask for recent tax returns, she didn't ask any uncomfortable questions. And then 2 days later on Saturday I got an update on the website that on September 10th, my permanent resident status was registered !!!
So marissa1 and twenty8 don't be too nervous. For the 2 hours that we have waited in the office, all the couples leaving the office were leaving with smiles on their faces !

              interview

hey guys, so my case is ready to be schedule for interview... I have been waiting for over a month now and I am from NYC.
I know it takes time here...

              I have a different question.

I came to US on tourist visa and I changed to F1, now I am on F1 and i go to school.. me semester will be over in couple weeks and i don't really know what to do.. should I attend the school and keep my status or quit school? or it doesn't matter if I quit school and i will be out of status in US.

              please help!

                Hello ss09,

I applied for AOS when I was on F-1 Visa and had the same question as yours. After I did my research on the internet as well as asked for advice from my university's international student office, I decided to maintain my F-1 status while the application was still pending. I think I did the right thing because if my case was ever denied for any reason (luckily it wasn't), I would have a valid immigration status to fall back on. So think about that when you make your decision. Good luck!

                  case F1

                  thank You HanhChi!

hopefully everything will be ok with my case, my case was approved and I am just waiting for interview.
i finished my semester. I need to focus on other things right now, that's why i asked about that.

please give me more details about your case if you can.
