Okay, this is some weird syncing here. Literally 5 minutes after I posted that question I received an update on the I-485 saying ?RFE was sent?. Haha. Could this be the courtesy letter? Because the case status says they will not take any action in my case until they receive a response to the RFE.Originally posted by NYFilingforHusband View PostI received the I-693 courtesy letter about a week after the biometrics letter, see timeline below. Also, I am in the process of expediting my EAD. Does the RFE in the I-485 affect my EAD expedite request?RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX

In my case it was the courtesy letter. We received the same case status "they will not take any action on my case.." and I was racking my brain trying to figure out what the RFIE could be for. A few days after the status update we received the courtesy letter, but never received anything else. Once my husband completed his biometrics the case moved on to fingerprint review complete and case ready to schedule an interview.Originally posted by seattle2903 View PostOkay, this is some weird syncing here. As others have reported, an RFE on one form puts everything else on hold. I got an RFE on I-485 and the Ombudsman emailed me saying that USCIS placed the I-765 on hold until they receive a response to the RFE. Great!RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX

Nope. It was mailed on Friday so I?m hoping to get it tomorrow. I will try to call USCIS today and ask a Tier 2 to tell me what the RFE is for so I can have the response preared and ready to be mailed immediately.Originally posted by nycfiler3 View PostYou still haven't received it in the mail?RoC (I-751) Application, filed from Houston TX

Yeah, I am trying to be proactive but I am still bummed about the RFE and the fact that it is slowing down everything, including the EAD. This is a lesson for everyone who are about to file that just following all checklists and triple checking everything is not enough to ensure no RFE will be issued. I am pretty sure it is related to the I-864 since my husband is self employed. He was W2 last tax year so I don?t know what the problem is but I will find out soon enough.Originally posted by nycfiler3 View PostAbsolutely do it! Ah, on the i-485, that would make sense.
