  • Change of address at USCIS while OUTSIDE USA

    Hello,

I'm currently OUTSIDE USA, and will stay outside for some time. I was staying in apartment which will be rented out.
I have pending 485 application and I'm represented by a lawyer.
But USCIS will continue to send mail to old apartment address (e.g. new fingerprinting request), which I will not receive.

Should I update my address to my USA OFFICE address?
    Should I file form AR-11 electronically https://www.immihelp.com/reporting-c...ress-to-uscis/
    Please advise how to proceed.

    Thank You.

AOS is for people living in the US and can only remain outside temporarily on parole. If you are living outside the US, you should discuss with your lawyer about converting to CP.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Thanks. I'm temporarily outside USA (with approved AP), so do not have to switch to consular processing.

I spoke to lawyer and he said that since I'm not in USA, I do NOT need to file AR-11.
But if I wanted to make sure about receiving USCIS documents, I could file AR-11 online with OFFICE address.
