I’m a November filer but I’m happy they’re working on Oct filers... November should be next. We had a previous denial so my lawyer said we shouldn’t get our hopes up for a waiver. But I’m definitely happy for everyone that’s moving along. It’s a stressful process, add in expenses, long waits and now covid ... but we’re hopeful. Keep safe guys esp my nyc and Ga folks

Or it could just mean they are finally catching up on their SRs from back in November

Hey guys, so this may or may not mean anything but wanted to quickly update our thread: about 30 days after we filed our forms (back in Oct) I called the service center bc I was concerned about a possible error on our I-130 receipt notice under the class of entry section. Anyway, we never received any kind of response to the SR until today. I got an email saying they checked into the request and resolved the inquiry, and that their systems indicate that our case is awaiting an interview (which is correct).

So, I just thought it was interesting that maybe they are looking into I-130 petitions for those of us who filed concurrently while we await interviews for the 485. I also wonder if the I-130s get approved in advance of the interview being scheduled, if the interviews could be waived? I know this is unlikely (except for employment based cases as we've seen in other threads), but who knows? My husband and I have been married for 14 years so it's def legit, lol. Lots of ifs here but just thought I'd pass along the info If anyone else receives any updates on the I-130, let us know!!

I've been reading here more and more that people who started the same time as us have their card in hand. That's super exciting but also frustrating as we have been waiting so long and now probably longer due to the new executive order. Is there anyone else who filed in October in a similar situation. Our field office in is Minneapolis, MN. It's my understanding that they tend to take longer?

    Much thanks!
Hi, Since your husband is already in the US, the executive order doesn't apply to you. When did you file?

EAD in hand 4/27, feels great seeing some tangible progress after not getting any updates since January

Now we just have to do I-693 when covid dies down and wait for the interview.

But that is in a perfect world. So now they are reviewing the I-130 smh. So I brought in a notarized letter from my landlord acknowledging my husband has lived with me since we were married, proof of joint bank account, copy of a utility bill with both of our names, and letter and documentation that he cannot be added onto my health insurance without having a ssn#. I have considered writing a complaint against the officer that interviewed me. Im sitting in an interview and this half blind man just walks in and was asking her for a little baggy just cuts me off in the middle of my responding to question and then automatically she would switch to a different question now allowing me to finish. One time she got up and left to speak to someone who called her to the door and then once back she will start a new question and I had to go back an say as I was saying. At first she was telling me that the interview could not continue because a certain form was missing. glad I had my own copy, because I know everything was included and had to show her where it was and she was like oh. She did not even review anything prior to me coming into the office. smh
Hello and thanks for getting back to me. Since your I-130 still needs to be approved, I'm guessing you haven't got the GC yet. I'll make sure to bring copies of the documents I sent once we go for the interview, which should hopefully be soon after they open up their field office again. I did get my EAD approved recently, so that's something at least.

Sorry to hear your experience with your interview wasn't good. I've seen and heard different versions of how the interview has been conducted, from pretty straightforward to having each spouse separately answer questions about the other spouse and then comparing between the answers. It makes it a little difficult to prepare for the interview, beyond bringing all kinds of documentation to prove the marriage is bonafide.

Thanks again for your reply and I hope you'll get your I-130 approved soon!

So hubby completed his interview appt at the SSA this morning and submitted the SS-5 application for his SSN/card. Smh. So they said they can't verify his work permit (he submitted the original at the appointment) so they have to submit to DHS to verify the validity blah blah blah up to 4 weeks to receive the card in the mail. Smh, rolling my eyes and sucking my teeth.
