I submitted tax return transcripts, I created an account on irs website and printed them out from there, so there was no error here. I guess that they just lost/misplaced my documents. Based on all responses here I shouldn't be worried. I planning to send:Originally posted by ra0010 View Post
Hi, we had a similar RFIE. My husband is the petitioner and sponsor. First, we went back to our original package (we kept a copy of it) and we realized what we did wrong: instead of submitting tax RETURN transcripts we submitted tax ACCOUNT transcripts, so whoever was reviewing our file didn't like it because of that. I read somewhere that if you sent the wrong tax document, the USCIS doesn't have a way to prove that you qualify as a sponsor, so they send you a RFIE because of that.
Our RFIE asked for W 2s and any other tax schedule for the most recent tax year. We submitted our application in October 2019, so the most recent tax year for us was 2018, and it is still because we haven't filed 2019 yet.
They also requested for a joint sponsor, but we don't need that because my husband's income is well above the poverty guideline.
This is how we responded to the RFIE:
-sent w-2 AND IRS tax return transcript (online) for the most recent tax year (2018).
- sent a cover letter explaining that my husband is above the poverty guideline, so he does qualify as a sponsor. In order to prove that, we sent an employment verification letter+ four months of paystubs.
Our response worked because we were scheduled for the interview less than a week after they received it.
Let me know if I can be of any help.
1. Affidavit of support
2. 2019 tax return. Just to be sure I may print both, tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts
3. All 2020 paystubs
4. Letter from employer
5. Letter from the bank with account balances
6. Cover letter with explanation of everythingField Office: Newark, NJ

Does anyone know if there can be multiple RFIEs? Our case has not been updated since January 8, when they received the last one (notarized birth certificate). I'm freaking out a bit, as it has bee over a month since I heard anything

The applicant is you the beneficiary of the AOS. I got the same thing. Make a copy of that yellow RFIE and copy of YOUR birth certificate and send it in.Originally posted by al0033 View PostHello,
I am new in this thread and I would appreciate advice from any of you so much. I am adjusting status from immediate relative from F1 Visa. I passed the biometrics and I just received a Yellow RFIE. On it, they ask me to submit a copy of the birth certificate of the applicant (is it me, the beneficiary? or my USC husband, the petitioner?).
I already sent a copy of my birth certificate on my original package along with a certified translation (from Spain). Does anyone know why I got this RFIE? I seriously appreciate some help.
Thank you all and I hope your processes go smoothly

Anything is possible but try not to overthink things. If it is any consolation, we sent our RFIE response and it was received back on 12/12/19 and nothing since then (other than finally getting our biometrics). Some cases update within a week, and others take a couple of months. Hang in there!Originally posted by Loquacious View PostDoes anyone know if there can be multiple RFIEs? I know the feeling of waiting all too well. Like I said, I have read about people that got two RFES, but they are rare... I bet you will hear something from them in February.Originally posted by Loquacious View Post
