Hello, we just received my husband's work permit. I am not sure if I am supposed to go to the social security building to apply for his social security number or if it will come on its own? When I check the USCIS website it says it will arrive in the mail in 7 days. It has been over 14 days now and we still have not received it. Does anyone know what we should do?

I received news yesterday that my I-130 has been approved. I filed it online back in December. That's fast, but I'm still waiting on the biometrics letter.

What does it mean when I-130 is approved? Like it is close to gettinv EAD or GC

It doesn’t mean much except to establish the existence of a relationship between me and my USC husband. But it is a mandatory form that needs to be submitted.

I don’t think I’m necessarily any closer to getting my EAD or GC. The reason I share the I-130 approval is because it usually takes at least 5 months for I-130 to be be approved, but for me, it’s 2.5 months. I’m being optimistic that maybe the backlog is easing in USCIS, but it’s anybody’s guess. :P
