    I used priority

Use priority mail as it will deliver in 3 days instead of 6 to 9 days with regular mail.
You can also use express (not recommended though) but for express there is a seperate address

      Biometrics done

I got my Fingerprints and photo done on the 10th. It took less than an hour including waiting time and all stuff.
What does the FBI do? Name check & Fingerprint match? or Background check? I'ma little confused

USCIS does everything on your profile. FBI checks your finger prints, name and background. There are different agencies involved in collecting information about applicants.

Some time they send your profile to home country for background check. Some other agencies like Border Security, etc will check, did applicant ever enter through other ways etc.

Don't be panic. It's a common procedure for USCIS to background check. Specially for certain people they do rigrous background checks, if their name matches to certain category.
        I think you got it.

What do you mean by "unconditional greencard"??

I'm in the same situation as you, I want to join my bf in usa and I have a 10 years B1 Visa. I want to stay there with him and get married but I was wondering how long it's gonna take to get a green card. I can stay legally in usa but I want to be able to work and use health coverage if ever I get sick or so.

Please need your opinion, thank you sister,
                    Allah bless u

There is a 2-year "conditional" Green Card, and a 10-year "no conditions" Green Card. If your marriage is less than 2 years when applying for the Green Card, you get the 2-year "conditonal" Green Card.

After marriage the application costs $1,070, the petition costs $420, and an immigrant medical exam (about $300) are needed. The timeframe is 4-7 months.

Yes, so long as your visa allows conversion and there is no evidence that you entered the U.S. with intent to marry and stay.

About 15 or so years ago, a male member of the Russian Ballet married a well-known American artist or socialite (can't remember which). He later entered the U.S. on a B2 visa, at San Francisco, and waved his marriage certificate in front of the immigration interviewer and aid something like, "it's okay, I'm married to a U.S. citizen." They turned him around and back he went to Moscow.

He was able to return a few weeks later...but with a little less drama.

Another story with a less positive outcome was of a Filipina who married in Washington State while on a B2 visa, and had her two children (teenaged, at least one was a daughter). Her Adjustment packages (for 3 family members) were submitted, but before her interview and before she received an Advance Parole, there was flooding in Manila and her business there needed her attention. She flew back, fixed her business problem and returned again on her B2 visa. Upon entry, she was asked if she was married to a U.S. citizen. She plainly responded no, then had her bag searched, phone numbers found, and the interviewer called the Stateside phone number of her daughter, who confirmed that her mom was married and returning to her new husband. She was fllown back to her last departure point, Taiwan, with a visa cancellation and bar from reentry for "lyng to a Federal officer."
