Lost green card

Hello,

My sister was married at Kalamazoo in Michigan at 2003. Later she had a baby. As she was coming from Switzerland where she was just speeking French, she was not able to learn English while living in Kalamazoo. She has never had any chance to learn English. Her husband used to do evrything for her. Unfortunately she got separated with her husband.
Our father passed away and when she asked her husband to go back home to be with our mother, her husband asked her to leave her green card telling her that he will go to Africa and bring her green card with him to pick her up a few months later. Her husbad never showed up. She is now stuck in Africa without knowing how to come back in United States. She told me that she had her green card before she went in Africa. I was wondering whether it is possible to find out in immigration archive if she has received her green card before so that she can ask for a new one. Please help because she is really desparate.

Thank you very much for your help. As I am not really sure that she has received her green card, I was
asking whether it is possible to find out in the US immigration (archive maybe) if she had received her green card.
Her English is very poor and she does not seem to be conviced that she had received a green card.
I would like to check first if she had received it in the past and then apply for it as a stolen or lost green card.
I can not say that my sister had lost her green card as I am not pretty sure that she had received it.
Please help and tell me what to do.

There is no way to know like that whether she received her green card. It would best to ask her in whatever language she understands.
