My husband was re-entering the US from London Gatwick Airport to Charlotte Douglas International Airport today 6/22/07. He cannot locate his green card. After going through immigration/customs, he thinks he might have dropped the green card after passing through Customs. He still has his passport from England. We are planning a trip into Candada on 7/3/07. Is there any way to check to see if Customs/Immigration in Charlotte Douglas International Airport located his green card. We have attempted to contact the Immigration/Customs Dept. at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and they informed us that if they found it, they would have given it to the airlines---which makes no sense. But the woman was insistant that is what they do with lost items. Help, please! Thank you for your kind assistance. If he cannot locate it before our vacation to Candada, will he be able to get through Customs to get in and out of Canada?

I have no idea regarding contacting the airport authorities.
However, if the person is stuck outside the US with lost green card, he needs to go to US embassy/consulate and get transportation letter before being allowed into the US. Read https://www.immihelp.com/lost-stolen-greencard-transportation-letter-emergency-travel-to-the-us/
