Retire in India

I am returning to India to retire. I am a US citizen and going back after
almost 40 years. I have couple of questions if they can be addressed, i
will be ever so grateful.

1. if one stays over six months and have to get registered with the
police, how long can one stay after the registration ?

2. Does the new law of two months between the visits on a visitors visa
apply to persons of Indian origins ? or it applies only to the people on
non India origin.

3. Has anyone applied for OCI card in India ? what is the system, do i
have to apply here or there in India ? I would like to know as much as
possible about this.

Once you have it, you can stay there forever. No need for any registration
for any length of stay.

It takes about 3/4 months to get oci card, I am planning to move back to
India in next couple of months. What would it take to apply for this card
in Delhi.
