Lost job on L1, but have EAD approved. Will I be able to work using the EAD?

Hey Guys,

I'm towards the end of my GC process. I got my final interview done couple of months back, but waiting for the date to become current to receive my GC.
Unfortunately, I got laid-off yesterday and trying to figure out how to maintain the status and start to work at another place.
My EAD is valid till May 2020. Can I stay in the country and search for a new job using EAD? How will I be able to maintain status? Will my L1 become void?

If it has been 180 days since the filing of I-485, then you can find another job and port using the EAD
