  • Birth Certificate

I have a birth certificate from India which doesn't say my name but has all other information along with my parents name and my DOB. This is the only record they have.

Do you think the following documents would be sufficient for change of status :
    1. Copy of my application to issue birth certificate
    2. Copy of the certificate from hospital that they found my information
    3. Copy of birth certificate from resgistrar but it does not have my name on it as I was not given a name when the record was created.
    4. Affidavit from my parents that I was born to them on specified date.

    Thanks,
    G

Perfect! You are very meticulous. That should work. Make sure all the copies are notarized and make available the originals during interview.

See if you can add your college or school leaving ceritificate [if you've studied in India], as these show full name and DOB. Notarized copies of these will be very helpful to you.

    Good luck.

I have printed scanned copies but they are not notorized, only the birth certificate has stamp from registrar. The affidavits are notorized though

        Notarization -

        - helps show these are authentic legal copies and carries more weight.

        Take care.

          Birtc Cert

If you have an Indian Passport and it states your and both your parents name, you can get a birth certificate from them.

          Fill this form /indian-passport-services-in-usa/

You will need to send your orignal Indian passport to them. The response is really good.
