Agent role in GC process for CP

Hi,

I searched old archives and not found any info. What exactly does agent role involve in CP process? I am in U.S sponsoring my mom's GC and wondering if I put myself as Agent or my brother-in-law in India as Agent?

Can someone please let me know pros & cons of it.

From the above link...it does not say anything about agent being able to go to the interview.
