EB2/EB3 wait period for Indians?

Hi,
I'm a doctor looking for some one to sponsor my H1 to Green card. I don't know if I will be in EB2 or EB3.

I'm from India. I wanted to know the wait period if I were to apply for green card (EB2/EB3) in early 2007.

When do we get the priority date is it after applying for LC or i140 and how long do we have to wait before filing for i485 considering my nationality.

Is there something like a backlog now for indians? or something called retrogression?

If anybody can give an input, I will be grateful.

Wait period is several years. Look at visa bulletin: http://www.immihelp.com/greencard/visa-bulletin.jsp

For priority date, look at https://www.immihelp.com/immigrant-v...priority-date/

You can only file I-485 if your priority date is current.

Priority dates were current earlier and now they are not. That is called retrogression.
