  • I140 - EB1C - Nebraska processing times.

While we can see the I140 processing time for Nebraska from USCIS website, what I was intending to get from this thread was updates from everyone who have filed their I140 in EB1C in Nebraska so we can collectively track where our cases are and based on other approvals when we might likely get approval for our case. In my case,

I140 was applied on 01/20/21 in Nebraska and I am still waiting for an approval as of today.

Can you please share your I140 filing dates and you current status?

Filled 140 in EB1C on Jan 29th. However the notice said it was received on Mar 31st.

it’s in Nebraska as well. Waiting to see what happens.

Yes, I got my notice on Mar 10th but the received date is listed as the same date in which it was delivered to Nebraska.

Interesting that your case was filed with phoenix but was then transferred to Nebraska. In almost all cases the file is transferred to Nebraska was because the I140 was in Nebraska and was still pending.

Was there a reason why you had not filed your case with National benefits center? My guess is that you would have got your GC by now if your case was filed in NBC.

it's my understanding that you file your AOS based on where you live and your I-140 status. In my case that was Phoenix since I'm in California with an Approved I-140. However, I got a letter from USCIS that "in order to speed up processing" they were transferring my case to Nebraska.....speed up??...ha ha..yeah right

My understanding is a little different. I know many people who wait for their I140 to be approved so they could directly file their Aos with NBC as it is much quicker. And, NBC does take care of moving the case to a field office close to you in case an interview was needed. I heard people preferred this route because it was much quicker. I'm not entirely sure if my understanding is correct either.

If you notice, criteria for applying to NBC is not mentioned in the link. For ex. I'm in Illinois, my case was filed in NBC but unfortunately since my I140 was still pending, my 485 filed to NBC was transferred to Nebraska where my 140 is pending. If only my 140 was already approved, my 485 would have remained with NBC. Cases with NBC gets processed quicker and if they believe an interview is needed, they would then transfer it to a field office close to you.
